
Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has redeployed two senior officers to Imo and Plateau States as police commissioners.
Newsmata.com.ng reports that the postings were released in a police wireless message dated February 3, 2026, issued by the office of the Force Secretary at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the communication, CP Audu Garba Bosso, has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police for Imo State, while CP Bassey Samuel Ewah has been assigned to lead the Plateau State Police Command.
The wireless message was addressed to senior police officials, including Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, state Commissioners of Police, and heads of specialized units such as Interpol, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Mobile Police Force, Border Patrol, Maritime Police, Air Wing, Bomb Disposal Unit, and other operational and administrative formations across the country.
The postings are with immediate effect.
