The global community is not out of the woods yet in respect of the likelihood of a Third World War, warns the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye on Saturday at the October 2025 edition of the Holy Ghost Congress and International Youth Convention.
Newsmata.com.ng reports that Adeboye, popularly called Daddy G.O, also warned “mockers” to repent so as not to die prematurely and urged the church to pray for them to desist.
At the Congress with the theme ‘Gate Protectors’, which was held at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye expressed concern at criticisms of church leaders by those who have made it a profession and money-making venture on YouTube.
Speaking before going into his sermon for the night, the cleric recalled the prophecy he made in his new year predictions about likelihood of fire outbreaks and floods in different parts of the world and threat of a Third World War and called for intense prayers.
Adeboye said, “I’ve told you again and again that I’m not a prophet, but I do hear from Him once in a while. And I really, really want to appeal to you to pray one or two prayers tonight. You remember the Lord told us at the beginning of the year that there would be great floods and mighty outbreaks of fire and there have been floods all over the world, fire all over the world.
“And there are two things He said that I want to bring back to your memory. One of it is that we should pray that the third world war will not start this year.
“Pray because we are not out of the woods yet. Let’s pray that God, let there be no third world war. Not only not this year, but we don’t even want it anymore.
“The second thing is that the almighty God said that mockers will increase in number and become bolder. But then, He said that some of them might not see the end of the year. God doesn’t want the death of a sinner. He wants them to repent and live. So, please pray, particularly for those who have been poking their noses in affairs of His church; affairs that do not concern them at all.
“Please pray that the almighty God will cause them to repent and live because the year is going to an end and I don’t want anybody to die prematurely”.
On criticism of church leaders, the 83-year-old man of God urged Christians not to be quiet because it is not their denomination that is at the butt of criticism.
Pastor Adeboye noted that “There are lots that are happening in this country that some people have now made it a profession to criticse.
“That’s what they feed on now because when you are criticising somebody, you put it on You Tube, You Tube doesn’t care as long as people are following your whatever. They rejoice because they make their money from advertisements, and the rest of us just keep quiet.
“They are insulting church leaders; they are criticising them. They say all manners of almost unprintable things about them and the rest of us keep quiet. It’s none of our business; they didn’t mention our own denomination.
“I think we better wake up. I think we better say enough is enough. And that not only must we talk, not only must we make a noise, we must pray”.
Among his 2025 prophecies on January 1 during the crossover service, he had stated that “Mockers will be louder and more aggressive this year than ever before, but unfortunately many of them will not survive this year”.
On the international scene, the RCCG general overseer had predicted an increase in violent storms, floods and tire outbreaks, earthquakes etc. “that will make previous ones look like child’s play”.
Adeboye also called for prayers “against new wars; that new wars will not start, and the old wars will not get out of control, so we don’t have another world war”.
