The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen on Thursday made light of the defection of the lawmaker representing Udi/ Ezeagu Federal Constituency of Enugu State, Sunday Cyriacus Umeha, who dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, welcoming him with the infamous “Your sins are forgiven” slogan credited to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the party.
Newsmata.com.ng reports that Umeha resigned his membership of the LP to join the APC, citing in his letter, the “lingering crisis, leadership tussle and instability in the Labour Party” thereby further depleting the number of the opposition party in the House.
The Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, Ugochukwu Agballa was present at the plenary to witness the announcement.
