The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who reportedly collapsed at about 1.30 pm in his office at the Government House on Thursday December 11, 2025, has died in the hospital.
Newsmata.com.ng reports that the 60-year-old Ewhrudjakpo was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa, state capital where he was admitted at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Confirming the development, the deceased deputy governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi however declined further details.
It was gathered that Ewhrudjakpo died after efforts to revive him at the ICU failed.
Born on September 5, 1965, Ewhrudjakpo had served as the deputy governor of Bayelsa State since 2020.
