The earlier withdrawn security details of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, have been restored, according to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshoood Jimoh.
Jimoh, who disclosed this on Thursday at a press conference at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, attributed the action to ongoing audit of police personnel and firearms
Recall that Meranda’s security details deployed to her office and residence were withdrawn on Thursday morning.
But addressing the issue which had sparked outrage and condemnation, Jimoh explained that the withdrawal of security details for the Speaker and other Very Important Personalities (VIPs) in the state was part of an ongoing audit of police personnel and firearms.
He said the audit was being conducted across other state police commands, not just in Lagos.
